I was born in 1964 in Belfast and was educated there.
Upon completion of Foundation Studies in Art at the Ulster Polytechnic 1983; I went on to graduate from Camberwell School of Art and Design in London majoring in Fine Art Painting. Post university, I worked in the mediums of painting, performance and film, exhibiting at galleries nationally and internationally.
Living in Berlin from 1989-1994, I continued working in performance, film, installation and painting, co- collaborating with a number of different underground collectives at the time.
I co-created various live electric, performance environments and multi-media installations taking place in Belfast, Zurich, Malaga, Berlin, and Amsterdam.
I also co-directed a short film ‘Resurrection’ which was screened at the Berlin International Short film Festival 1993.
In 1994 upon my return to Ireland, I lived for two years on Achill Island, Mayo and in Sligo. In 1996, I settled in Dublin where I have since lived and worked, exhibiting in the mediums of painting and drawing.
Since 2003, I have worked part time as the Art Teacher at St Columbas Mental Health Institution. In January 2007, St Columbas was awarded first prize, ’Center of Excellence’ for my work there, by Lundebeck Ireland Art Awards, adjudicated by Dr Brian McGuire and artist Brion Bourke.
